We love that you care about NaNoWriMo enough to want to bring more NaNoWriMo stuff into the world! That said, we’ve put a lot of work into making the NaNoWriMo brand a shining beacon of writing encouragement, and we must be protective of our name and logo.
We have legal protection on the names “National Novel Writing Month” and “NaNoWriMo,” as well as our logo and any derivative products. To help us put as much of our resources as possible into our events, we ask that you adhere to the following usage rules:
Logo: Please do not use our logo or parts of our logo.
Manufactured items: Please do not make any products, free or otherwise, bearing the “NaNoWriMo” or “National Novel Writing Month” name.
Flyers: Please don’t make your own. We have official flyers that we’d love you to use to promote NaNoWriMo.
Web and social media graphics: Please don’t make your own. Every year we craft some NaNo Flair that you can add to your website or social media accounts.
Software and applications: Please do not include “NaNoWriMo” or “National Novel Writing Month” in the name of your software or application.
